OUR VISION
We envision our country restored to a representative Republic consistent with the values and principles of our founding fathers. Moreover, we expect our government representatives to dutifully and faithfully follow the U.S. Constitution, serve the people, and conduct themselves according to their solemn sworn oath.
Therefore, we work to strengthen our Republic by fostering individual civic responsibility. Our contributions influence the public conversation and expose truth with integrity. We are determined to have a positive impact in our community, our state and our nation.
OUR MISSION
As Patriots Taking Back America, our mission is to EDUCATE, ARTICULATE, COMMUNICATE and ADVOCATE. This is to say:
We endeavor to EDUCATE ourselves regarding our nation’s true history, those issues that threaten the nation’s future, and our choice of public servants who may be employed to protect that future;
We strive to effectively ARTICULATE these truths and concerns in a way that inspires fellow citizens to embrace and fullfill their civic duty;
We plan to COMMUNICATE the truths we learn – personally, though our website, and through community venues – to support a renewed national consciousness of the virtues embedded in the U.S. constitutional framework, the collective wisdom of our founders, and the best contributions of our citizenry throughout the nation’s history;
And, we will ADVOCATE for all persons and ideas which support these American ideals.
FRAMEWORK/CITIZENRY
In God We Trust. This Republic was birthed providentially, sustained providentially, and will only be maintained providentially. If God is not in it, we cannot achieve it.
U.S. Constitution. We believe our constitution is NOT a “living” document to be modified by the whims of subjective ideologies. Rather its original intent, combined with collectively forged amendments, presents our clearest chance of preserving the nation’s future.
Scope of Government. We believe in small government, developed within limits defined in the constitution, preserving all other powers to the states.
Economic Structure. We believe in fiscal responsibility and free-market capitalism, with less government intervention and regulation.
Americans. We believe that Americans are good and generous people, who historically have freely shared their resources more than any other nation on earth.
ISSUES
Preserving the Republic. Under our Constitution, the United States of America was organized as a Federal Republic employing representative democracy. We reject any means of public influence that diminishes the “Republic” form of government in favor of any other form of government.
Rights. We support the fundamental rights of the people and the states which were enumerated by our founders in the Bill of Rights.
Balance of Power. We believe balance must be restored between the three “co-equal” branches of government – Executive, Legislative and Judiciary – that Presidential power has grown out of proportion through the use of Executive Orders and Signing Statements, and further that the Supreme Court should be made to refrain from legislating from the bench.
Spending. We know that our current spending and debt levels are unsustainable and that it is immoral to burden our descendants with perpetual debt. We are willing to do what it takes to correct this mistake.
Taxation. We believe that lowering taxes has been proven to create more jobs and increases government revenue, stimulates innovation and encourages entrepreneurship - the backbone of our prosperity as a nation.
Health Care. We believe that neither our birthright as U.S. Citizens nor our Constitution permits that we be required to purchase any service from a government entity or private enterprise. Therefore we support defunding and repeal of the current health care bill.
Energy. We believe in developing our own energy resources.
Cap & Trade. We oppose global control mechanisms couched in environmental protection, i.e. “Cap & Trade”.
Redistribution of Wealth. We oppose exploitation of our middle class and wealthier citizens in the name of “redistributing the wealth” locally, nationally and throughout the world. Business should not be considered “too big to fail”. People may, under some circumstances, need “a hand up”, but a “hand out” only perpetuates their problem.
Property Rights. We support personal property rights over the state and federal government’s attempts to take property under the guise of eminent domain.
ELECTED OFFICIALS
Ethics, Integrity and Accountability. We believe we must elect representatives who are first and foremost honorable people, who are willing to be held accountable to the highest standards of personal integrity and ethical conduct. We will measure their performance in deeds rather than words. We will not hesitate to point out when they have ignored the people they represent, or to vote them out of office when they become an embarrassment.
Accessibility and Responsiveness. We believe our elected representatives must be accessible, listen, and communicate in a timely manner with their constituents.
Choosing Representatives. To be well-informed and responsible citizens, we are committed to vetting potential and current elected representatives and advocating for those who are aligned with our vision and values.
Supporting Representatives. We will support candidates who will read and understand the full ramifications all bills before voting on them, listen and actively respond to constituents and reflect the same ideals we espouse to namely: principles over party, limited government, lower taxes, reduced spending, term limits, elimination of earmarks and repeal of any unconstitutional law.
Term Limits. We support efforts to institute term limits for both state and national representatives.
VALUES - PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY - MISSION EXECUTION
We support the following nine principles articulated by the 9.12 movement, namely:
We support the twelve values articulated by the 9.12 movement, namely: Honesty, Reverence, Hope, Thrift, Humility, Charity, Sincerity, Moderation, Hard Work, Courage, Personal Responsibility, and Gratitude.
Participate. We realize that it is our civic duty to be active participants in the governmental process. We now more fully comprehend the imperative for diligence, and the consequences of apathy.
Educate. We seek to understand our founding documents, and our rights as citizens, and pass that knowledge on to improve and empower our communities and preserve our creator-endowed liberties.
Communicate. We seek to be a reliable source for information in our community.
