Time to Code - A Pebble Hackathon

Calling all developers!

Join us at the University of Ottawa (SITE Building) for an all things Pebble hackathon! Developers of all ages and skill levels are welcome to join! Pebble apps are written in C however they also have a JS API available.

Requirements:

Be sure to RSVP to this event page so we can have a computer login generated for you. We will be providing computers with internet access. Alternatively if you prefer to use your laptop for development we will have an open internet connection available. Other than that just show up and hack away! All coding will be done on the computer and laptops using CloudPebble with the built in emulator. However there will be Pebble watch's to test run your apps on. These refurbished pebbles will also be avaliable for purchase at $60 each.

Teams:

Coding can be done individual or in teams of 2-3 max.

Location & Getting There:

The address of the SITE building is 800 King Edward Drive.

The easiest method of transportation to campus is via bus. All of the main line buses come right through campus station. Here is a campus map: uOttawa Map (http://www.uottawa.ca/maps/CampusMap.pdf)

Schedule:

Saturday, July 11th:

10:00 AM - Event Begins

10:30 AM - Distriute computer logins and get users set up on CloudPebble (https://cloudpebble.net/) to begin developing

11:00 AM Presentation by Cherie from Pebble

1:00 PM - Lunch Break (Gabriel's Pizza & Drinks provided)

6:00 PM - End of Day 1

Sunday, July 12th:

10:00 AM - Day 2 Begins

1:00 PM - Lunch Break (Subway subs & Drinks provided)

3:00 - App Demos

4:00 - App submissions begin

4:15 PM - Judging Begins

5:15 PM - Award Presentation

6:00 PM - End of Event

Prizes For:

• Best Color App W/ Timeline Integration

• Best B&W app

• Best Watchface

Prizes include: Pebble Time's, Pebble Steel's and Pebble Originals

But don't worry, if you don't win there will still be plenty of swag and stickers to hand out!
