NoSQL vs Hadoop Ecosystem – Part II

Details
Overview:
This is second part of “NoSQL vs Hadoop Ecosystem”. Last time, we covered Hadoop Ecosystem in great details. The coming session will mainly focus on NoSQL databases, their role, data models, challenges, … We will also go into the details of the Lamda architecture and a summary where different technologies are a good fit. If time will permit, a quick-simple demo to show the difference between Hadoop and a NoSQL database.
Solving “Big Data” problems is not a one-tool job, so the orchestration of the appropriate Hadoop Ecosystem with a NoSQL database is key to a successful architecture.
Hadoop is not database, but a complex software ecosystem that allows for massively parallel storage and computing. It has an option of certain type of NoSQL distributed databases, such as HBase. This session reviews the features available in the Hadoop Ecosystem vs NoSQL databases, and its applications in the “Big Data world”.
