Hope you are all well and happy and looking forward to the Easter break. !!
I put this up this event some many months ago, and the response to it has been very interesting and mostly humorous, as it was intended to be. It has developed a life of its own and many members have made contributions to the event, which has been enjoyable for many I think.
However, given that some people that have expressed an interest in coming to this event may not be familiar with the long tradition in Australia and other countries of April Fools Day, I feel obliged to clarify the reality regarding this event.
The latest information I have received is that the whales have decided to travel up the east coast this year. Apparently Port Wakefield is not far enough north for them and that is only as far as they can migrate if they were to come up St Vincents Gulf. As well, apparently, because of this, Coles & Woolworths will not be stocking plankton this year, and so even if any whales did come, we will not be able to purchase any suitable food to feed them with.
So, given these developments I will be cancelling this event on Friday or Saturday, unless I get new information that the whales have changed there decision to bypass Adelaide this year.
Not all of us are theistic, but I wish everyone a happy and safe Easter, celebrating it in whatever way your beliefs and culture require or allow.
