"Beyond the Pleasure Principle" , by Sigmund Freud
Details
Assigned Reading(s) : "Beyond the Pleasure Principle"
Author : Sigmund Freud
Freud changed his mind on a few important matters. Perhaps the most striking was his revision of instinct , or his views on the Drive Theory.
Beyond the Pleasure Principle was published in 1920. This was his first clear statement of his new drive theory; love and life now stand over against aggression and death (eros and thanatos).
This was a turning point for the Psychoanalytical Movement.
