Sunday, December 18, 2011
1:00 - 4:30 pm
Princeton-Blairstown Center
158 Millbrook Rd. Hardwick, NJ 07825
LEARN the colonial American skill of Candle-making... with a modern twist. Bring your old, used candles and we will melt them down and recast them using both the dip and mold methods.
Pine needles and hemlocks cones will be provided for adornment.
Reclaim the lost resource of old candle wax,
and make beautiful gifts for the holidays!
LEARN the easy, fun and practical craft of Paper-making. We will use recycled paper stock (which we will mix in a blender!) and hand-made frames and deckles to create functional, unique paper that is great for holiday cards.
We will also explore printing w/ potato stamps, and using Milkweed silk and Cattail fluff as local, natural fibers. You can also bring your dryer fuzz/lint to add to the pulp mix!
SNACKS ~ Please bring a wholesome snack to share (like crackers, cookies, cider).
Workshop is appropriate for adults and children.
Children must be supervised by adults, due to use of stove and blender.
Cost: $10 for adults, $5 for children
Please RSVP to Event host: Elyssa Serrilli ( elyssa dot serrilli at gmail dot com ) or through this site.
Thanks, and look forward to seeing you there !
