MBTI or Myers Briggs Type Indicator is a tool designed to map personalities and provides us with an insight to who we are. Based on the theories of Psychologist Carl Jung, the MBTi is extensively used worldwide today within the realm of personal development and in business for organisational development. It is considered the most reliable and valid of Personality Type Indicators.

Using MBTI provides everyone with a common language and understanding to why we do what we do. MBTI helps to discover our unique differences and workshops are often held to help achieve a variety of outcomes including:

To improve communication and relationships

To develop leaders & teams

To assist in resolving conflict

To assist in change management

To provide personal development

To assist understanding your family

To assist people unsure of a career path

MBTI can be used on a basic level where you will receive 4 letters that best represent your Personality Type. The beauty in MBTI is that it can be used in its basic form or in a far more detailed context. MBTI Type Theory suggests we evolve over our lifetime and begin to take on all aspects of Personality Type depending on what stage we are at. Therefore it is not uncommon to discover in your 40s that your Extravert preferences are balanced more with Introversion traits also. Those with less knowledge on MBTI can be confused thinking that their Type is changing where in fact your Type is evolving.

There is so much more I could talk on the topic of MBTI but let’s leave it up to our Meetups and workshops.

So if you know little about MBTI but are curious, or a seasoned veteran who has been working with MBTI for years, this group is for you. I have taken up the reigns of this group from Louise who founded the group due to her interest in Jung theory. I have been involved with MBTI for around 10 years and have recently accepted the position of National Vice President at AusAPT. The Australian Association for Psychological Type (AusAPT), is an independent, not-for-profit organisation, promoting the knowledge and use of psychological type. Founded in 1992, AusAPT operates Australia-wide, check it out at .

Please join our group if you are interested in Personality Type and contact me if you have any suggestions or questions. Looking forward to meeting you soon.
