I'm looking to meet stimulation people interested in the creative aspects of life as my life has become too solitary since returning to Perth. I enjoy entertaining so would enjoy the company of people wanting to share ideas and thoughts. I am also very interested in critiques of my work as much as I am interested in helping others to achieve their ambitions. Taking a collaborative approach to projects also interests me. I have many projects in mind but need like-minded people to work with. Passionate people but not Primadonas. I've found the creative scene has become illusive and perhaps exclusive. I want to build up contacts and relationships of mutual benefit. I also think writers and the arts in general have a lot to offer in society over and above traditional journalism. Perth is a fantastic place deserving of the creative spark writers can ignite. Technology has changed publishing and needs to be shared and understood to achieve it's full potential. I want to get involved.
I write mostly the traditional fictional novel but am interested in writing and producing short films and even plays perhaps. I would be interested in participating and/or delivering group programmes and opening up access to writers to impart knowledge rather than have traditional academics be the only avenue to learn. I'm keen to engage in critique and having open discussions about writing.
I've been involved in education and developing and delivering programs so I have the skills and experience to assist any group if required. I would also like to share my ideas and where I am able, provide input and advice to help others. In many ways, simply engaging with writers is my way of following my life path. Sometimes I enjoy companions on my travels, even in a metaphorical sense, so it's often nice to walk with others who share common interests.
I am open to times and places. As I wrote before, I enjoy entertaining and my apartment offers quiet, comfortable and stimulating spaces to relax, work and enjoy life. I have found finding public spaces can not only be difficult but most often not stimulating and/or impractical. Private homes can be problematic in some ways as well. So I feel you have to be open and honest about what works for you and what doesn't. I exclude, or perhaps better words are 'judge or criticise' anything until you have tried it. For me the world is full of surprises and I am open to try anything.
I write, paint, illustrate and design. I write mostly about personal experience as fiction. I've hiked and worked in Australia but spent most of my life in the Pacific. I am to some degree a Peripatetic, Bohemian Raconteur enjoying stimulating souls.
