PetStructor teaches Pet Tech's PetSaver classes, the premier pet CPR, first aid, and care training worldwide. Pet Tech is the preferred training for Homeland Security and Pet Sitters International. The skills and techniques taught in the PetSaver class are part of the chain of care which veterinarians use, and are taken from the book, "Handbook of Veterinary Procedures & Emergency Treatment" by Bistner, Ford, & Kirk. This 6 hour course uses both lecture and hands-on demonstration to enhance the learning and practical experience. Students will have the opportunity to perform 3 types of physical assessment, 3 types of chest compressions, rescue breathing, vital signs, conscious and unconscious foreign body airway obstruction (choking), bleeding management, heat & cold injuries, restraint and muzzling, as well as learning to identify environmental hazards, nutrition and proper body weight, risk factors for overall health, dental care, and more. According to the American Veterinary Hospital Association, an additional 1 out of 4 pets would survive if just one first aid technique were applied prior to receiving emergency care. This comprehensive, hands-on, interactive class is filled with pertinent information and usable skills. Join us! Classes are held in Columbia, MD.
