2013 Literary Tea

From: Kristy
Sent on: Friday, May 24, 2013 1:09 PM
Hello Everyone!
For anyone who does not know me, my name is Kristy DeCola and I am taking over the Literary Tea this year.
This year's Literary Tea will be on September 7, 2013 at Trax Farms.  The theme will be Nursery Rhymes.
For those of you who are new to book club the Literary Tea is an event where our book club raises funds for the Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Council.  Each year we pick a theme and members volunteer to decorate a table that goes along with that theme.  There are pictures of past Teas on the Meet-Up website for anyone who would like to take a peak.
This event has been possible in the past because of all the wonderful book club member who volunteer their time.  So we are looking for members who would like to help with the following:
1.  Decorate a Table
2.  Organize the Chinese Auction
3.  Man the Registration Table at the event
4.  Sell 50/50 raffle tickets
5.  Find a speaker for the Tea - At the past Teas we have had authors speak.
6.  Design a flyer for us to advertise the event.
If anyone is interested in volunteering for any of these please respond to this email.
Whether you volunteer for one of the above or just attend, The Literary Tea is a fun and rewarding event.  And to demonstrate that our contact at the Greater Pittsburgh Literacy Council also wanted me to pass along an invitation to the Book Club.  At some point during the summer she would like to arrange a tour for us of the Literacy Councils' Downtown teaching center. It would be a chance to meet their students and teachers and see firsthand the benefit of our hard work!
