I am a person living with Celiac Disease who was diagnosed about 7 years ago. There have been a lot of wonderful changes since then. We have a lot more options as far as restaurants where we can eat, and which stores carry gluten-free products. One thing that hasn't changed however, is what's available to us at potlucks! I always wind up making way too much food, to guarantee that I'll be able to eat more than salad. Then, I spend my time being paranoid that my food will wind up cross-contaminated!
I formed this group because I like to cook and bake, and hope to find others who feel the same. We'd be able to experience a variety of safe choices, and could actually relax and enjoy being a part of a gluten-free community. I'd like the events to be family friendly, since many gf kids are already denied so much when you factor in birthday/class parties.
As a single parent, I completely understand that life gets busy. I'll host when I can, but if we can get enough people involved there's no reason why we couldn't meet more frequently! Please remember to RSVP, and to switch any Maybes to Yes or No as the events get closer.
