A Day of F# -- Tutorials, Presentations and Hands-On Exercises

Philly F# and Philly Lambda are joining together to present A Day of F#.

Join us for a day of F# fun and education. If you've been wanting to dig in to Microsoft's premier functional language, this is your opportunity to do it with several experienced developers on hand to guide you through your journey. Or perhaps you've already started up the F# learning curve, but want to dig deeper and explore some more advanced topics. There will something for you as well.

Starting out with a fast-paced introduction to the F# language geared towards C# and other .NET developers, the plan is to then move on to some hands-on exercises (there will be Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced versions of these to fit all experience levels), followed up by presentations from experienced F#ers on specific topics of interest.

We are leveraging the presence of a few out-of-towners who will be in Philadelphia that weekend for the Philly.NET Code Camp. So if you are not too code-camped-out by the time Sunday rolls around, plan on joining us for an educational and fun day of F#.

Michael Clagett will be giving the Intro to F# talk. Alfonso Garcia-Caro, creator of the Fable F#-to-Javascript translator, will be visiting from Spain. And Philadelphia local Steve Shogren, a development manager with SmartStream, will be presenting on his group's experience using F# in a commercial environment. Unfortunately Riccardo Terrell couldn't participate.
