Abstract:
The growth and change in Docker in the last year has been phenomenal. The Docker ecosystem got interesting with the 1.9 release and the addition of network and storage APIs. The new APIs present a common methodology to manage persistent storage for Docker applications. This presents a growth in new use cases and capabilities. In this presentation we’ll share how SolidFire has done some work with Convoy and Flocker, and recently, finished up our first version of a native Docker storage plug-in. We’ll also take users through the options around Docker storage and the work to make OpenStack Cinder a storage manager for Docker.

Ed Balduf is a Cloud Solutions Architect with SolidFire/NetApp, focusing on OpenStack, Agile Infrastructure and SolidFire solutions. Ed has been working over 20+ years in technology, consulting and sales. Ed is highly technical but has always chosen to work in roles involving interaction with customers and partners as he excels at solving new problems and knowledge sharing. Prior to SolidFire Ed has held positions with Fusion-io/SanDisk, NetApp, COPAN, McData and SGI.
