Using BIM To Support Energy Efficient Building Design,Construction and Operation

Details

This presentation will introduce ongoing efforts at the Energy Efficient Buildings Hub to create an interoperable computing platform to support more detailed energy analysis of building designs for retrofit projects. Specific topics covered will include the development of an energy modeling tools, and the use of a BIM server for sharing model information between applications, including model development in Autodesk Revit along with other applications. Details will also be discussed regarding the use of the Immersive Construction Lab at the Navy Yard for detailed model review in a large format, 3D stereoscopic display system. Participants will learn how to transition models into a format that can be used in the ICon Lab display and learn about using the display as a resource for energy efficient retrofit projects in the Greater Philadelphia region.
