Meeting #2: Modular automations & tagging taxonomy best practices

Details
UPDATE: this meeting will be available here (http://grid7.com/hang/) as an on-air Google Hangout for those who are unable to attend in person.
Last meeting we ended with a topic brainstorm (notes here (https://www.evernote.com/l/AASUlGFrA5lKab-RqHXwxZB4b6WdSmQfpkE)). Out of the handful of topics we discussed we're going to focus on these two for next meeting:
• Modular Automations: How do you avoid application sprawl and duplication of effort when you need to send the same email from different places in an automation? Simple: you cleave off the email send as it's own automation that you can invoke from anywhere. This is a concept from OO programming and even if you're not a programmer we'll break this down this technique in layperson's terms and give you some best practices on how to start writing your automations in a more elegant/resilient manner.
• Ultimate Tagging Taxonomy: so how should you be tagging your contacts? You can use tags to slice & dice on any dimension and trigger anything but their flexibility can also be their downfall as you can quickly wind up with a rat's nest of cruft. We'll show you how to keep a tag registry and the 80/20 of which dimensions you should use to segment your contacts. We'll also look at a simple naming convention that will save you from the dreaded rat's nest.
• Show & Tell: If you're willing to show off anything you've been doing that's getting results we'll carve out time for show & tell at intermission. I'll demonstrate some stuff I'm doing in AC for Pagely as well as the SMS lead capture automation I used to get 42 leads from last year's PressNomics.
As always if you have questions feel free to shoot me an email beforehand. See you at the next meeting.
