AngularJS by Jeff Cross (Google)

Jeff Cross, a core member of the AngularJS team at Google, will be discussing the philosophy of Angular, how to get started with building an app with Angular, and what's coming soon in the framework.

Also, a big thanks to Jeff and the Google team for providing Angular t-shirts (lots of them) which I will give out in person at the meeting

It was a good presentation. Does anyone remember what Brad and some other people talked about job postings?

    Google Hangout Info

    My Email: [masked]
Hangout Name I'll Use: Phoenix JavaScript

I'll probably fire up hangout around 6:30 even though we usually start the actual presentation around 7 (after socializing and pizza). If I can get the hangout posted to YouTube, I'll trim off the beginning so it just starts with the presentation

I can't make it down to S. Phoenix, but I'll be joining the rumored hangout!

There has been a slight change. Jeff has made arrangements to be in Phoenix on that day so we'll have him at the meeting in person - not over Google Hangouts. Although if Jeff wishes, he can do a hangout while he's presenting

As long as we'll have a good connection, doing a Hangout would be no problem. I'm not sure about the recording bit.

What time will Jeff start the presentation? I know this group usually starts later and I have another meetup this day at 6pm so am trying to make it to both.

As you've seen, we generally do socializing at the beginning (I found this to be much more advantageous than doing the pres first and the social at the end). Generally, we start the presentation when the socializing dies down or at 7:00 (whichever comes first). There have certainly been times where almost no conversations were going on at 6:35 after pizza and it just made sense to start the presentation then. There was one time when the socializing was so intense and loud that I let it go until 7:15ish. But in general I try to get the presentation started at 7. I would say, you can probably go to your other group and then anticipate that our presentation will start around 7, since that's been the trend lately

Also, I thought this group always meet on the 2nd Wed. of the month? I see it's the first Wed. this month.

    July 24, 2013

    • Brad W.

Depending on UAT's schedule and other factors, we dont have a consistent "such day of every month". It's also by design since many other tech groups do that sort of thing, if I were to pick "the second Wednesday", there might be some group that also picks that and members would forever have to choose between them. At least this way with the variability, if we overlap other groups some months, we wont overlap the same groups in other months.

I would love to attend, but the wife is 8 1/2 months pregnant so I'm "forbidden" from going to any more meetups. I noticed the meeting will be held via Google+ hangout. I'm sure you must be encouraging folks to attend in person at UAT, but I'm wondering if the hangout info will be available for those of us that cannot physically be there.

    July 17, 2013

    • Brad W.

I don't see why not. Yes I would encourage people to attend in person but if you absolutely cant, then this particular meeting will be on Hangouts so I will post that info as we get closer.
