i hope everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving.
i want to apologize to the nov meet-up group for not getting the info sent out for picasa and how to upload the images. i promise i will send out an email tomorrow with login and password info. Cia, please send me the info again. (thank you).
so now for the january meet-up, i want to run this by you guys and see what kind of feedback i get.
having just eaten enough carbs and butter and fat to last a week, i had time to think about how lucky we are to have so much.
im sure we all probably threw away a lot of food without thinking much about it.
i would love to volunteer, and hopefully many of you, to work and photograph a soup kitchen through a local charity.
we would help in the prep, and in the serving lines, and we can take turns and photograph what we see.
that would normally be enough, but i want to take it one step further.
im going to ask photographic retail companies, print and service bureaus, and generally whoever can help with the printing, presentation, and display of our images.
im thinking that sometime during the month of march to have a week long gallery show of what we shoot at the charity.
go with me people, but maybe a display of our work in grand central station, private galleries, or a designated space provided by the city.
i'm not doing this to make myself feel better, i can always write a check, but somehow a group shoot may change someones life, maybe even our own or open the eyes of someone.
im thinking the second saturday of january and im guessing we should limit the group to the first 30 people that reply.
if i get enough positive responses, look forward to rsvp this weekend. i'll let you know what charity and where in the near future. if anyone has a lead, please let me know.
thank you,
salvatore
