Photography Classes Pages

This Meet Up connects educators and photo enthusiasts. Most of the classes and workshops offered by teachers are fee based, but members are encouraged to stage free events through this website.

Details: Digital cameras have won the hearts and minds of millions of people. In 2004, the year that digital imaging passed film imaging, there were over 70 million digital cameras sold in North America. In 2008 it has been estimated that only 15% of all PRINTED IMAGES in the United States were taken on film. ONLY 2% OF ALL IMAGES, PRINTED OR STORED, WERE TAKEN ON FILM.

Simply stated, people are taking gazillions of photos with digital cameras. The reasons include storage, ability to manipulate, low cost of imaging, etc, but the real reason is that IT'S FUN!

Along with this interest in photography comes a strong desire for people to become better photographers. The learning process is also fun.

This Meet Up site may look like a commercial enterprise, but it doesn't make money. I can't speak for all the teachers, but I don't even meet my expenses, even though I give about 35 workshops a year. I do it because its fun.
