Good morning, photographers!
And what a good morning it is. I hope you won't let a silly thing like a job or appointments get in the way of indulging in some photography today--and every day! If you don't have your camera with you today, I'll give you a pass. But tomorrow, put it in your bag and take advantage of any free moment to look for the cool things in your day. Take a walk at lunch, look with your photographer's eye while you wait in line, challenge yourself to find something interesting no matter where you end up.
The June monthly meeting will take place at the Fitchburg public library Thurs June 5th at 6:30 pm. The theme for this month is shutter speed. At the May monthly meeting, co-organizer Bill talked about shutter speed techniques to blur fast-moving water or to capture light trails to stunning effect. You can also use shutter speed to freeze fast motion or to convey movement. So get moving--play with the dog, run around with the kids or feed the wildlife--because we want to see what you do.
SUBMIT YOUR SHOTS
Please pick up to 3 of your favorite photos to share using shutter speed or anything (just keep it PG-13 please!). Don't worry, this is not a public critique. We're a friendly group who loves to look at and talk about photos as much as you do. And don't be shy, even if this is your first meeting--we want to see your photos--really!
UPLOAD THEM AND TAG THEM
Please upload your images to our Flickr group and tag them "June2014Meeting." If you need help with Flickr, click here.
Co-organizer Steven will talk about lines, points of view and triangles, elements of composition that can make for dramatic and compelling images. This will be a very interactive learning session. Please bring a basic camera, a smartphone or a point & shoot. If you have a bright flashlight, please bring it too, it will be part of the fun!
Come to the monthly meeting next Thursday. And check out these other upcoming meetups:
See you and your photos next Thursday!
