About Photography Career Mentoring - for aspiring pros

As described in the welcome page, this group is dedicated to bringing professional photographers and career minded enthusiasts together to meet and exchange information in a structured learning environment. Everything we cover will center around commercial applications of photography: Fashion, product, portrait, editorial, journalism, photoshop manipulation, travel shooting, architecture, lighting techniques, etc. This group will not cover landscape, wildlife or other nature photography subject matter. Every meeting will be a mini class, with a brief presentation, discussion and an assignment. Following meetings will review the work and approach a new technique. I'm being upfront when I say that I'm looking to make contact with serious students that want to pursue the skills needed to shoot professionally. I, and other pros, will be doing the demonstrations for free with the hope that members will be drawn into the curriculum and want to take more in-depth fee based workshops. The workshops will be high level courses on a par with Brooks Institute and other top level colleges.

Members are welcome to attend all meetings for free, and contribute as they wish. There will be no obligation to take the workshops, but I hope we'll get a core group of students that will pursue the craft and become professionals.

This is an excellent way to get a top level education at a fraction of the cost of big private photography schools.
