Workshop to photograph the Seasonal Bird spectacle in which we will see 10's of thousands of wading birds Knots, Oyster Catchers, Curlew, Dunlin & maybe Pink Footed Geese.
When the tides are high enough which is down to an alignment of daytime & tides they will be forced to take flight in their 1,000s, the commotion of these wingbeats, the excited calls and swirling flocks creates a fantastically exhilarating nature spectacle, a true "whirling wader spectacle".
This part of the trip is non negotiable for start times in the itinerary as we are in natures hands although you are never forced to attend & will still be part of the rest of the day, I will work the rest of the photography trip around this spectacle to maximise our photographic success.

We will also take in the wonderful coastline of Norfolk, beaches & huge skies, sand dunes, beach huts the opportunities are plentiful, we will decide on the rest of our "to do list" on the trip as a group, it is the coast of Norfolk so appropriate clothing and footwear is needed.

This will be a 4 night stay Monday August 19th - Friday 23rd the accommodation is included with 4 full days of photography cost £895.00 and I will have no more than 4 people with me.

All levels are welcome from beginners right through to advanced, I will be on hand throughout the workshop to assist on all technical aspects of camera settings without the techno babble to help you achieve the photos you are after as well as composition, styles, methods & “trouble shoot with you”, discuss suggestions that will enable you to capture great photos.

A feast for the eyes & the ears at this 40's revival day...from babies in old prams to veterans proudly displaying their medals...& wonderful singers belting out 30's & 40's songs along with those that have meaning to the war... dancers will be doing their thing too lindy hopping & bopping a sweat up....oh how I love the fabulous 40's, what a way to spend my birthday week.

I will advise/teach on composition (avoiding the public in your shots) camera settings, engaging with subjects to get specific shots, anything needed throughout the day to get the cracking shots that literally surround you...

I will also set specific tasks during this event to challenge you which will be the basis of your photos to upload after the event & as mentioned I will be on hand for help & assistance all day to make sure you get great images from this fabulous Salute to the 40's Day...

Transport is also on show from bikes, buses, fire engines, police cars, motorbikes, jeeps etc etc many will be used on the parade...

Do please upload your best shots from the day to the group page other members will do the same too, it's a great way to see how others saw and photographed the event from their perspective, I will be contributing too.

I will be driving to East London from the Uxbridge area so if you want to jump in with me let me know...if others are driving & don't mind car sharing please post a message below...at the event there is plenty of free parking.

This is an all day event, tickets can be bought online at £29 adult or £27 concession..."Ticket is not included or part of the Meetup fee"

Food & drink available on site from traders so bring some cash with you...there are plenty of toilets on site too...

Photography trip to Norfolk for the Grey Seals at pupping season, having and caring for their new pups, we will do this each morning from sunrise to mid/late morning, then off for breakfast. After the day is open to do some coastal seascape and landscape photography, this is Norfolk in December so good clothing and footwear is to be considered.

Due to the shorter days and the sun being so low in the sky all day the quality of light at this time of year will "hopefully" be kind to us.
This is workshop with 3 full days of photography, I will have a maximum of 4 people with me to photograph the seals...this will be done at a distance so long lenses will be needed.

As this is a "real wildlife" situation we will be an appropriate distance from the seals so "long lenses will be needed" in order that we do not disturb the seals during pupping season.
Inappropriate behaviour by people showing a lack of knowledge and respect around the seals can result in abandonment of the pup or if they get wet by being spooked into the sea hyperthermia that can set in as when born the fur is not waterproof and wet fur for the pups often results in tragic consequences.
