Hi and welcome to Photography in Berlin!

This group was started by an Australian photographer, Beth Jennings in the summer of 2011.  Beth's currently in Australia so the group continues to be run by a savvy group of co-organisers.  This group is very successful because events are scheduled regularly and they often involve bier gartens at the end! It's also a great group where everyone is welcomed to suggest events.  We all see this city differently so if an idea strikes you, share it! If you're feeling inspired and would like to learn more about photography as well as handling your camera to create the images you want, then this group is for you.

Regular meet ups will be scheduled:

- meet ups at many of Berlin's awesome cafes to discuss your beautiful images. Bring your USB and the organiser will bring a lappie. These events are free.

- outings (full and half day) to discover Berlin, and further afield, through the lens...we call these 'photo wanderings'

- visits to photo exhibitions (the Helmet Newton Foundation is definitely on this list!). Finding out about the artist and their life is key to understanding their work.

You're welcome to all the events on offer.  There's something for everyone here that loves photography - travel, people, landscapes, closeups, you name it, there'll be a chance to discover it...

New ideas and suggestions to improve the group are always welcome. It's a joint effort here to make the activities interesting, fun and engaging.

One condition

Our vision for Photography in Berlin is for it to be lively, progressive and active.  We decided to introduce one condition that all members must agree to: if you rsvp to an event, then don't show up with no text/phone call to notify the organiser of that event, and you do that 3 times, then your name will be removed from Photography in Berlin...we understand that sometimes things come up, all we ask is that you communicate your change of plans with us asap...

Our group is growing rapidly, the more that join, the more contributions and ideas we receive from people like you to make it better.  We are a vibrant and friendly bunch at all levels of technical knowledge and creative abilities, from basic beginner all the way through to professional.  So if you enjoy photography, you'll fit right in, we'll see to it.
