UNESCO World Heritage „Pfaueninsel“(Peacock Island)

This is an event for photographers interested in nature and historic architecture as well as for all who like to see a very different part of Berlin. Lets explore the UNESCO World Heritage „Pfaueninsel“(Peacock Island) at river Havel.

Detailed info in English here: http://www.visitberlin.de/en/spot/pfaueninsel-and-pfaueninsel-palace

We meet at S-Bahn station Wannsee and will pass by the Wannsee Marina, Liebermann Mansion and House of the Wannsee Conference until we reach the ferry that will take us to Pfaueninsel. There we will explore the small island with a beautiful castle and hopefully see some peacocks roaming around freely. As fall is approaching quickly we will probably see a lot of changing colors of trees and bushes.

Optional: depends how long time this will take we have the option to pass by the Castle Glienicke and the famous Glienicker Bridge (total distance from starting point Wannsee station for this route is 14 km) or go straight back to Wannsee Station. See map:

Bring good walking shoes, warm clothes and packed lunch.

Location: Pfaueninsel

Meeting point: S-Wannsee outside the Station building
Meeting Time: 12.00 hrs
Date: 29. September 2013

Please be aware that the personal safety of you and your guest(s) is your responsibility for the duration of the above mentioned Photography in Berlin meet up event. Thanks

Looking forward to meet you,
Cheers Synke [masked]

Morning all. I'm outside the station but I see no photographers. Currently standing outside the Wannsee-Hof restaurant. I'm the lost Asian in a beige coat.

Hi, this sounds great, I've been meaning to check out Pfaueninsel! This would be my first meetup with this group, and I'd like to bring my husband along. We are not really photographers (though I would love to learn) - I love taking pictures, but I don't have a nice camera or anything. But I assume we can still come along for the experience? Also, should we pack a lunch?

Of cource its fine just come along. Its probably a good idea to bring a packed lunch and a drink. We probably all sit done for coffee or drinks somewhere on our way back.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
