Beelitz-Heilstätten

This is another big abandoned hospital complex south of Berlin and similar to Heilstaette Grabowsee http://en.wikipedia.o.... They offer a tour on their website for 5 €. http://www.beelitzer-... It seems easy to get there by train RE7. Might be something for a dry day in winter or spring?

thanks David, I set the date back some weeks, can't actually delete it without deleting the whole post.
Everyone please note this date is not fixed, we're still awaiting more info and the date will most likely change again!

No I don't have any contact with the site owners. You can clear the date, so we can have more time to negotiate a better price!

Hi David thanks for your interest in this tour, but as far as I am aware, we are still trying to get a better price for the group meet up for this. Unless you have some contact with the site owners and can negotiate a better price then I think the date you have set is not going to work.

Sorry I didn't see the previous message. So, you can change the date and hour as you want. ? 37,50 per person is too expansive and I want take a sure about we can go inside the Sanatorium, because it's very interesting from inside! Let me know if you are still interested.

It looks like Chirurgie is the place for the lights and tables. I think Küchenhaus, Pavillon Frauen could be great also. There's a museum on sight as well but that may only be open on weekdays.
    This is another website: www.heilstaetten.beelitz-online.de

I don't think I'm alone in expecting some kind of commercial use contract if the costs are going to be high. Interiors are incredible. If given the choice, I suggest whichever one has the old surgical lights/tables and one called Männer Sanatorium. I had a quick glimpse inside this a few weeks ago during a music video shoot. There's a huge room that feels like a gymnasium which would make for great photo's. I would HIGHLY suggest going on a sunny day, MUCH better light inside!

So the cheapest price they give works out at 37,50 euro which seems rather excessive for wandering around the place on our own. Hoping you get a better answer Diana!!

I just had a reply back to the email I sent some weeks ago:
"Between Monday to Friday the smallest price would be 600?. You could bring up to 16 people than. For 20 people we had to take 700? and for 25 = 850?.
On weekend the smallest price would be 700? and you could bring up to 20 people (25 = 850?, 30 = 1000?).
If you need a well English speaking guide, we could manage it for 100?. If you just prefer to walk around the place and discover it by your own, you don?t have to pay that 100?."

Yes, thanks for your help Diana! Hoepfully we will be able to get a fair price on this. I wouldn´t mind a tour in German, I would be there mostly to shoot :)

thats great thanks Diana :) An acceptable price - maybe the same as we paid at Grabowsee - 6 euro per person? Maybe a little more is ok, if everyone is happy with that.

Hi all! I talked to Andreas Boettger from go2know today. He will send me an group price for a group of 15 people as soon as he talked to his partner and the owner. This offer would be for february or march. They usually don't provide their tours in English. So I asked him to think of a group entrance fee to explore the area by ourselfs. Hope he gets back to me before the 15th.
@Julie: What would be an acceptable offer for this place?

Since it does not look like we can find a more affordable alternative, I think I am going to book the tour at Jan 15th if anyone is interested in joining.

Hi Marcia, no they haven't replied to my mail. I agree its way too expensive at 40 euro per person, I have been before and really can't say it is worth that much to go there.

Hi Julie, did they reply to your e-mail? I was looking at the Go2Know site, they do some interesting things but very expensive, I suppose this is the shape of things to come in the future :( 40 euros is too much per person for a photo outing, which most likely will be in German, if I used the images commercially it could be worth it, but still I dislike the very commercial aspect of the whole thing. I am only interested if I can access at least one building from inside.

Scanning through the Go2Know page it states, that the area is secured and trespassers will be prosecuted, so I guess it would be nice to obtain some form of permit. I would be willing to pay the $40 if there is no cheaper option.

I've just sent a mail to Go2Know asking if we could access the site at a reduced fee on the basis that we want to only wander alone and not have the guided tour. Otherwise, this is a very big site, we could just try turning up and trying to get in, if we face problems we can try and negotiate again same as at Grabowsee. Jonathan when did you visit the site? Its about 2 years since I was there and it was so easy to get in then, some more up to date info on access would be great if available.

Apparently there is a lot of stuffs in those buildings, I guess they try to preserve it somehow and do some money on the way...

And I would say I heard 300? to start with, so 40 is ok for me hehe! but sure if we can have it for 10 or even for free I'll jump :-)

Oh, it is the Go2Know people, same one that is commercialising Grabowsee...40 euro is way too much, I think up to 10 per person is OK, more that that is not on. What are those people thinking, honestly??Thanks for your help, we will find a way to crack this one.

I just called Frau Krause who organises the tour. She don't go into the buildings, her tour is only about history and architechture of the area. She pointed me to this link http://www.go2know.de/Fototouren/Beelitz-Heilstaetten::195.html They are allowed to go into 2 buildings and offer a 4-5 hours phototour for 40 ?. Which is quite expensive. We could ask for a special group price.

Hi Jonathan, the information I´ve got from Diana is that there is a fee, which i am happy to pay if we can have full access and take pictures. Unfortunately a lot of those great ruin sites are get commercialised, like the Grabowsee one, which until a short while ago was free to get in and now there is a fee to access the site, when we went there we thought we could not make it, but after some negotiation it was all right in the end! So, before I announce the meeting, I want to research.

there is already a lot to see without paying, I spent one day there already, and I'll definitely go back if I can. ( http://is.gd/bNGfma )

Some buildings are completely sealed, and of course, the really good stuff is in there, but I heard that it's around 300? to have the key. I'll try to find further details about it.
