A remonder anout our refund policy

Below is a reminder about our refund policy. I know it was sent to all members not long agon but there has been an influx of new members who may not be sure about the refund policy so here it is again.


Photography workshops is inique in offering workshops that have a strict limit on the number of participants and at a price that is kept as low as possible. This ensures that everyone in the group gets attention and can attend at a reasonable price.

There is however,  a cost to maintaining this approach in that when you RSVP for a workshop you are commiting to a strict policy of no refunds, credits or rain checks if you cancel or fail to show. This is clearly stated and you agree to this policy when you check the box during the RSVP process. It is rather like buying a theater ticket or a ticket to the Red-Sox - you don't get a refund if you fail to attend or cancel, and there is no oprtion to transfer your ticket to another showing.

To the vast majority of you who clearly understand and agree to this policy I thank you and apologize for bothering you with this email but am writing this to everyone because increasingly people have been asking for refunds or credits when they cancel, despite the fact that they checked the box agreeing to the no refunds policy.  There are no exceptions to this refund policy and it is applied across the board.

For every workshop, there is a decision made to put considerable effort and time into planning, producing handouts, renting space,  and hiring equipment and models, which can often incurr considerable cost. If I cancel a class I refund your money and still honor my commitments to pay for the space and the models. Once you sign up you are committed to attending or you will forfeit any right to a refund or credit.

In return for adherence to this policy I will offer to continue running classes that have strict limits on the number of participants. I will also commit to running classes at a loss when less than the required numbers to make the class profitable have signed up. I will also continue the policy of offering scholarships and free classes to those in need of assistance.

When you RSVP for a class, please read the instructions and policies very carefully and please don't sign up unless you are certain to attend or are willing to forfeit your payment if you cancel.

When you sign up for a class you give your agreement to the clearly stated refund policy by checking a box. Please honor your word and accept that you will not get a refund or a credit if you cancel or fail to show up.
