The director of Pigs Peace just decided to quarantine the sanctuary, and thus close it to visitors and volunteers, because of the recent outbreak of swine flu. She took this action after much consideration, and of course, none of us wish to see the pigs unnecessarily placed at risk. Therefore, this Saturday's event is cancelled.
In lieu of Pigs Peace, you are invited to join us for a vegan potluck picnic at the beach at 12:30pm at Golden Gardens Park at 8498 Seaview Pl NW, Seattle. We'll carpool at 12:00pm from the Park and Ride at[masked]th Ave NE (the same time and location we were planning on carpooling for Pigs Peace). Bring your sunglasses, frisbee, and delicious vegan food to share.
If it is raining, we will see if anyone attending will offer up their home for a few hours, and if not, we can all visit a restaurant in the area.
As with Pigs Peace, if you are planning on going to the picnic and you need a ride over to the beach, or can provide a ride, please email me the same so that I can ensure everyone who wants to go can. Do not hesitate to email me ([address removed]) or give me a call [masked]) if you have any questions.
Pigs Peace Sanctuary Needs you! Learn more about the Sanctuary here: www.pigspeace.org
This is a group for people that want to help Pigs Peace Sanctuary by joining occasional work parties, attending or supporting fundraisers and of course donating!
Unfortunately, we do not have work parties very often even though we'd LOVE to have them all the time.
If you are able to make a commitment to volunteering at the Sanctuary on a regular basis, then please do contact Judy at email@example.com . Please be aware that she gets tons of email, so she may not respond right away. Being a committed and regular volunteer means you are able to work at the Sanctuary at least once a month, have your own transportation to get to the Sanctuary, and are responsible enough to show up when you say you will.
