Pinellas Hack Shack Message Board › Centurion Member!
Pinellas Park, FL
Pete, the 100th member of Pinellas Hack Shack just joined. Big hello and welcome aboard to him and all the other new members!
A little news:
1. The shop renovation continues as we go 'round the wall adding work benches and shelving. Things will continue to be a little in-the-way until the process is complete (and no guarantees after!). The more the merrier in getting this stuff done. We are running a little shy on items like pine 2x4's, decent plywood (we need stuff more like cabinet ply than yellow pine sheathing or chip board) screws and all that fun stuff. Donations and help would be much appreciated.
2. The computer lab is certainly usable, but it too is lacking in material for finishing. We have plans for some really great cabinets, just need some additional backing to get the projects done. We really need these storage and organization features so that folks have a nice place to keep their project boxes and personal items clean, safe, secure (and especially out of the way).
3. We are getting a lot of interest in Pottery stuff. Tina is out Master Potter. She has been supplying everything for that up to this point. If you would like to participate in pottery activities, and/or if you would like to help support this craft, please drop us a line. I hope to con Tina into offering a regular pottery meetup vs the ad-hoc variety. It's fun stuff!
4. We have a job list both for the Shack, as well as in support of our sponsor ARSP Inc. 501(c)3. There is a LOT of I.T. stuff on the list, and no little bit of stuff like furniture making, upholstery, window repair, painting, gardening and all the other stuff that goes on when piecing together a non-profit foundation as shoe-string as the foster care system is. If you want to make a big difference, sign up and bring your electronics hammer. :)
