The first in a series of discussions on the basics of WiFi!
So what makes a "good connection" when it comes to WiFi? What do you need to be aware of when setting up WiFi in your home, office, or across the Monongahela river valley?
Adam Longwill, Director of Meta Mesh, will give a presentation about the following subjects:
- Gain and Loss
- Reflection, refraction, diffraction, scattering, and absorption of RF
- Amplification
- Attenuation
- Free Space Path Loss
Start your journey to being a wireless professional by grasping the basics of how electromagnetic energy reacts to our bumpy geographical surroundings!
Like all PittMesh Working Group meetings, the discussion will be preceded by the "State of the Mesh" update, an explanation on how to participate and a listing of current projects.
No food will be served and we will start promptly at 7pm. If you get to the location early, we may organize a delivery order-- or enjoy Leon's Caribbean food down the street
