Did you choose your college major in engineering because you decided the world was seriously lacking in awesome giant robots? Are you a friend of those who love blonde martial artists in orange jumpsuits that occasionally turn into animals?

Welcome to the Pittsburgh Anime Meetup, which attempts to unite anime fans from all over the Pittsburgh region for monthly meetups that involve anime, food, and anything else that people care to share! We meet on weekends and are centered around the city.

Even if you can't make it to meetings, there are several resources at your disposal. The "About Us" page is a place to put your personal preferences. I also use the polls to gauge group opinion and try to take this into account when planning meetings. There's also a message board and a mailing list if you want to get threads going. I've also got a Google map up (http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=...) so you can see where we've been and where we're going.

Want to attend?

Let's take a road trip to Ohayocon, which is one of the larger cons in the region. Last year's attendance was probably twice that of Tekko, in the neighborhood of 7,500-8,000. There is something for everyone - informative panels, guests galore, and more raving than you can shake a (glow) stick at. The plan will be to carpool down on Friday morning or afternoon as we did last year. We'll split the costs of the hotel room. Read more
