Did you choose your college major in engineering because you decided the world was seriously lacking in awesome giant robots? Are you a friend of those who love blonde martial artists in orange jumpsuits that occasionally turn into animals?

The Pittsburgh Anime Meetup is an anime club which attempts to unite fans from all over the Pittsburgh region by getting out and doing something.  Whether it's a restaurant trip, gathering around a television or projector screen, or hitting to road for a convention, the goal is to try and connect people to share ideas, experiences, and to just have a good time.  You never know who you might meet or what you might learn!

For an idea of what we do, check out the calendar of past and upcoming meetups.  Each link contains a description of the event answering what, when, and where.  To give a general idea, I normally schedule things on weekends centered around the city itself and its eastern neighborhoods.  Some events are scheduled outside that, and suggestions are always welcome either via direct email or the ideas page.

In addition to the calendar, you'll find some other resources on this site. There's also a message board if you want to start any discussions relating to anime, manga, gaming, or related hobbies.  Joining the group gets you on the mailing list, which will ensure that you receive announcements when meetups are scheduled as well as reminders and updates. To help you navigate to meetings, I've set up a Google map where all the locations and events are tagged, and for ultimate redundancy, you can join us on Facebook.
