PGE is a loosely organized group of urban farmers in Pittsburgh. We've turned vacant lots, backyards, and other open areas into organic natural habitats and food producing plants. Our vision is of a system of organic urban food production that is healthy, provides a substantial part of our diet, and is scalable to any neighborhood.
PGE holds classes, workshops, meetups and dinners to celebrate and embrace urban food production in Pittsburgh. Education and Community Connections are our number one priorities.
Goals of PGE: Localize Economy Provide a Healthy Source of Food Local Seed Collection Increase Natural Habitat Build food into our neighborhoods

Pittsburgh Garden Experiment is a community-supported network for urban gardeners. We schedule regular free and low cost classes, workshops, and social events to share experience, knowledge, fun, and social connections.
There is huge potential for urban food production to supply a large portion of our diet. We believe that with quality garden design and stewardship, we can create an urban food network that will thrive in Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh Garden Experiment is a project by Steel City Soils, LLC with a ton of help from the people of Pittsburgh. Check our blog for news, how-to, and networking at http://pittsburghgardenexperiment.org
