The cloud is rapidly becoming a critical runtime for Java applications and despite what you might hear, not all applications are well suited for it. Whether your applications is consumer- or enterprise-facing, it’s important to know how to design an application such that it thrives in this environment. This talk will focus on the key advantages and limitations of the cloud and how you can design your application to work smoothly with them. There will be discussions of both general design patterns and specific technologies that will make your transition to the runtime as painless as possible.
