The next PlugIn MeetUp is here! Well, almost here. March 21st, same time and place as our inaugural meeting. For those who could not make the January meet and greet, that's Ste. Marie (930 Poydras St.) from 5:30-7:30. There will be some complementary appetizers and likely some drink specials for us as well. Of course, Ste. Marie has a full kitchen if you'd like to make a dinner out of it.
Unlike the first MeetUp which was strictly a meet and greet, this time we're working on having a group discussion as well. Hopefully we'll have someone from the public health arena come give a brief talk (15-20 min.) and then we'll follow with a discussion. There will be plenty of meeting and greeting to be sure, we'd just like to vary it a little from last time. Stay tuned as to who this speaker might be...However, don't get overly excited as it may just end up being Stacey or me.
Also, as I feared, there was precious little communication between us outside of the last gathering. So be thinking of ways to get discussion and communications going between official events. For this to be the public health powerhouse Stacey and I envision, we need to be much more than a happy hour bunch every other month.
I look forward to seeing you all again and meeting many new first timers as well!

Can't wait to see everyone this week, don't forget to RSVP so we can get a head count! And I can't wait to hear our friend Lindsay talk about her work with refugees and victims of trafficking in New Orleans. She'll be giving us insights on what we can do to help, as well as sharing her passion and how she got started working in this community in NOLA. You don't wanna miss this one!
