(Shawnee Location!!) Sing Out at Hurricane Allie's! Friday Night Karaoke

Details
PLEASE NOTE! (Updated 3/11/2014) We will be meeting instead at Hurricane Allie's for the month of March, every Friday night. Hurricane Allie's is in Merriam, KS, just off of I-35 and Antioch (you can also get to it from I-35 and Johnson Drive exit, it's about halfway between the exits on Merriam Drive.)
Bring your sidekicks, main squeeze, family, and friends, or make new ones at this fun neighborhood bar! Hurricane Allie's has karaoke from 9 PM to 1 AM and we enjoyed our time there the past few weeks with affordable drinks, tasty food, and fun performances. They also have darts, pool, clean bathrooms and lots of close parking.
The KJ is Kristy, and has a great voice and is sweet and accommodating if you are a shy singer, or have special requests, she will do her best to find your song! Even if you're not into singing, it's still fun to watch others, and croon along from your chair (hey, the words are even up on the screen for you to sing along to!) There's something uplifting about singing along with a group to beloved songs... as the quote goes, "Music is too important to be left up to the professionals."
Jerry, the KJ from our former location in Independence at the Time Out Lounge, is looking for another location for Friday nights, so we will probably change location in April.
Look for the group of fat, happy people with a MEETUP sign on the table!
----------------------------------------------------------------
This is now a weekly event, every Friday night at 9:00 PM!!
We tried out the Karaoke night on 8/2/13, and had a great time, so we are going to make it a weekly event. We liked the location, the music, cheap bar tab, and the KJ, Jerry. Either John C, Lana, or Brian will be there every week to lead the meetup and have a sign on the table.
We will meet every Friday at 9:00 PM at the Time Out Lounge in Independence. Even if you are not a person who likes to get up and sing, it's still fun to sing along with the well known songs...there's just something about "Sweet Caroline" by Neil Diamond and Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" that makes us all want to sing along! There are also the occasional bad performances...but also great performances that make you feel like you should have paid for the great impromptu concert you're experiencing!
Feel free to join us even if you're not a performer, and invite friends and coworkers, the more the merrier. See you Friday night for a cheap, fun night out with a friendly group!
