I have recently joined a Poetry Slam and although I LOVE it, I am often exhausted as it ends at 11pm and is on a week night. So I've decided to start my own on Saturday evenings.
If you are one who is serious about GOD and HIS word, attempting to live a good clean life, Please come out and share your struggles, triumphs, everyday battles, just get some stuff off of your chest in poetic form. The spoken word is an excellent tool that people of GOD can use to witness. In this group, we will not judge, we will have fun, we will not use profanity, but we will use Poetic form to speak on such issues as Loneliness, Divorce, Separation, new beginnings, new relationships, economics, struggling, Blessings, etc. This group will mimic what the passion for Christ ministry (www.P4CM) does. It will offer a platform for people who are able to use the spoken word to minister. First and foremost, however, before you join this group, check your ego at the door. Ask God to give you a humble heart, a discerning spirit, a word of encouragement, a word in poetic form (does not have to rhyme) to share that will offer hope, guidance, truth, encouragement, THE WORD, wisdom, etc to your audience. We will ALWAYS respect what another has to say even if we disagree!
