Polycrafters- Closing in Feb 2015 Pages

Do you like to scrapbook? Make cards? Knit? Crochet? or do other hand crafts?
Then come join other people who are polycrafters- We'll focus on Scrapbooking & Knit/Crochet, but will dabble in other arts (sewing, jewelery, beading, pottery, drawing, etc) to keep our senses sharp and our minds growing!

How the group began:
I've been assistant organizer of a Scrapbooking group for about 2 years and have realized that I was using all my time on only one of my many crafts! So here we are, with a Polycrafting group! Personally my interests lie in Scrapbooking, Knitting, Crocheting, Sewing, and general crafting! My favorite projects are socks (2@X-Toe-Up), shawlettes, purses, and other quick and easy projects!

What to expect:
My goal is to host at least one to two meetups per month. I am hoping to find a few assistant organizers who have specialties beyond my own, who are willing host meetups. This will allow us to have a more diverse group! If you are interested in hosting an event or becoming an assistant organizer, please email me! Right now, I am looking for a seamstress, painter, beader, and any other type of polycrafter interested in leading.

Meetups will be held at local coffee shops, scrapbook stores, yarn shops, public libraries, and possibly private homes. I will try to organize with some consistency, however, my life is fairly open-ended. ( I am married, no children, flexible work, and open to new adventures)...

Membership & Dues:
In order to use the meetup-site, there some fees involved. As your organizer I am asking for some assistance in paying for use of the site. I am asking for $5 from each active member once a year. There is a tab for "Money" at the top of the page which will detail financial transactions for our group. Any fees collected beyond the amount due to Meetup will be used to help offset the cost of setting up locations, my fuel to check places out, and in general support of our membership. If you are unable to pay the fee, let me know; I will likely ask that you do a service for someone in our community or group (teaching a skill, arranging a meetup, or another service of time or skill). If you have any questions, let me know.

I ask that all members remain active by logging in once every 3 months. It is as simple as RSVP'ing for an event (even if your response is "No"). If you have not logged in in more than 3 months- I will send you a friendly reminder. If after 1 week you have not logged in, I will remove you from the group. You will be able to rejoin at any time because our membership is open to the public.

General Policies
Membership is open to all adults (18+) regardless of gender, sexual orientation, nationality, cultural background, or skill level :). I ask that all members treat each other respect and follow the golden rule (Treat others as you would like to be treated). Children may be able to attend meetups upon request and approval by the host.

That being said; If there is a desire to create a women's only event for a small group, I will leave that option open to the host. Please be respectful that we are all here to create and build friendships. Be yourslef, value the talents and struggles that we each bring with us, and honor the group by remaining active & engaged!
