5 Ingredient Fix

Hi Foodies!


I'm sending this to all members because there are still some spots open for the 5 Ingredient Fix Challenge on October 13. Here's just a bit of added information:

Claire Robinson's concept is to use 5 or less ingredients per dish. Salt, pepper, water, and oil are freebies.

If you are making a dip, for example, the dip should not have more than 5 ingredients. If you are going to serve it with crackers, say, those do not count.

Or if you are making spaghetti sauce - 5 ingredients. Served over pasta - pasta not counted.

If you make a cake from scratch, every ingredient counts toward the 5. But if you use a cake mix, then you have the mix, eggs, water(which is free) - that's two ingredients. You get the gist.

Last year I made a fruit crumble which had five ingredients, and I served with ice cream I made, which had 3 ingredients - two separate dishes served together.

Everyone coming is asked to bring a dish. If you are coming with someone, please bring one dish per person. The quantities don't have to be huge, since we will have a wide variety of things to try.

At the event, I'll pass out cards on which you can write your name, the name of your dish and the five ingredients - so everyone can see what wonders you have created!

Keep in mind that prizes will be awarded in each category!! Looking forward to seeing many of you at this fun event!
