Brunch at Bahari Resturant in Astoria

Hi Gentlemen,

Our last Queens Brunch went so well I wanted to make it a monthly event.

And am open to suggestions form other members for future ones.

I had suggested Cavo, and I was told they served lunch but when I went to make a reservation they said they only do parties during the day. So, I am sorry there had to be a change.

I quickly went on line and found another great Greek Restaurant -  Bahari which on the Village Voice 10 best Greek restaurants in New York was listed as one of the runners up to the #1 spot.

The menu looks great and it seems more affordable than Cavo.

You can check them out at

Look at the whole menu it is really very affordable you can get half a chicken seasoned and roasted to perfection with a side order for only $9!!!!

There are a lot of great dishes on the second page of the roasted meats section.

I hope this works for everyone. You can get there by the the N or R train.

The cross street is 32nd Street.

The phone # is 718 - 204 - 8954

One of my hopes for this group not to only bring Men over 50 together but to use this as a tool for men who live near each other to be able to meet where they live and get to know each other.

Having moved to Queens from Manhattan, I only had one friend out here in Queens now after our last brunch I met a whole group of men from Queens.

So, please join us at Bahari for an exciting and tasty meal.

I hope every Gay Man over 50 who lives in Queens or just wants to visit comes.

You will get to meet Anna the lovely Hostess we had a great chat and she can't wait to meet all of us!!!!!

Thanks and all the best,

Another great meetup with an interesting assortment of guys. The food was ok, though I did enjoy the ambiance, but I thoughly enjoyed speaking with Uli about the applications of linguistics, and also about Germany after the war in a non pedantic manner. Eventhough I threw in a few sexual peccadillos, the talk was enlightening, inclusive, and thought provoking....something which in the past I did not expect with a gathering of gay men. Gay life is more exciting without the booze, drugs, and pretentiousness. Thank you Geroge for organzing this group.

Check the website you will see that there are some pricy items on the menu but most of it is very reasonable .
And what they suggest to start is getting a lot of appetizers and sharing them.
I liked the menu and check out the little video on the website it has ambiance!!!
Looking forward to seeing you all on Sunday.
Our company and conversation is the main thing!!!
That is why we are going.
    Best, George

I did check the menu, and I saw there were many reasonable options, which is why I decided to attend after all. For those of us on fixed incomes, cost is a concern. Not all of us fit the stereotypical demographic of single (or coupled) gay male with excess disposable income.

Doesn't disposable income imply excess? (unless you are the sterotypical gay male who has disposable adjectives.)

All right, I'm willing to give it a shot, as long as I can get something reasonably priced.

My bling wouldn't get me a cup of coffee. It's just cheap costume stuff.

Hey Guys, Sorry about the change but this restaurant seems a better choice.
It is still Great Greek Food.
