Very short update this month. No meeting, two reasons. First, I haven't gotten around to deciding what to do and arranging anything. So I'm giving myself a month off.
Secondly, I asked last month if everyone could please indicate their interests on our Meeting Ideas
poll, and so far, only 6
people have! That's still not enough to have a real solid idea of what I should do. If you have not responded to the poll yet, PLEASE DO SO
! It will take you 30 seconds, tops!
On our usual meeting day, the third Wednesday, I instead invite you all to the EcoMaine Green Expo, which is being held next Wednesday November 15 from 11 AM to 6 PM at Sullivan Gym of the University of Southern Maine. This is billed as "The Layperson's Expo For Going Green At Home & Business", and includes demos, workshops and more than 60 exhibits designed to help you go green at work and home -- all FREE!
At the Expo, I will be presenting the workshop on Bicycle Commuting for the Bicycle Coalition, starting at 4:30. So you see, I'm not getting the day off after all! See here
for directions to Sullivan Gym.
Lastly: Last month I also asked for some volunteers
to help lead monthly beginners workshops on the big 3 beginning commuting topics: Logistics, Mechanics, and Safety. Again, I haven't heard anything. If I don't get some volunteers, I'm going to have to start asking specific people, so consider yourself warned!
Have a good month! Remember that whether or not you are still commuting, we still look forward to seeing you at a meeting or online. December's meeting will probably be a potluck hors d'euvre Holiday Party, on the usual third Wednesday. See you there?Ride safe, have fun.
