Inspired by the work of Father Thomas Keating and Rev Cynthia Bourgeault, the Contemplative Prayer Meetup offers participants opportunities to engage with the wisdom teachings of Jesus through practice and discussion.

Stepping around simplistic and literal readings of scripture, we focus on the sayings of Jesus in recorded in scripture that point to a new, transformed way of being - life lived with heart and mind in alignment, life lived beyond the binary logic of the egoic self.

Meetups will feature an opportunity to share in practices such as:

Centering Prayer - a Christian style of meditation

Chanted Psalms - the ancient school of prayer

Lectio Divina - a traditional, meditative form of reading scripture that opens new meanings.

Come and experience a direct relationship to the wisdom teachings of Jesus.

The Contemplative Prayer Meetup is sponsored by Rose Croix Parish of the Apostolic Johannite Church, but is a non-denominational meeting – everyone is welcome.
