Minutes of tonight's meeting / plans for the next

OK, not really meeting minutes (although I did gavel us to order with a ketchup bottle).

However, so Chris, Chang and anyone else who's interested (Dania?) can stay in the loop, here's a quick recap.

Tim, Cindy, Jamie and I met at the Bear tonight, and talked about what to do next. If I understand correctly, it looks like we're in for a Changless period of a few months.

Cindy and Jamie both have short stories that they'd like to bring to the group, so we thought we'd try to look at the two stories next time. It seems like it will probably work out to be a doable amount of critiquing and discussion.

In order to see what a good time would be, I've set up a calendar using Doodle. If you're interested in coming to the next meeting, go to http://www.doodle...= and check all the days that will work for you. With any luck, this will show us when a good day for the next meeting will be.

In keeping with time-honored tradition, we went around the table and talked about what we're reading.

We also discussed Readercon, which is coming up in the Boston area the next weekend after the 4th of July weekend. See for details. Cindy's planning to go; I'm planning to go; from Facebook, it looks like Chang will not only be there, but will be reading(!) We discussed the idea of meeting up for dinner along with our respective entourages, and perhaps trying to make it a bigger event. (Maybe post flyers on the board of party announcements, to see if any other Maine writers would join us.) From what I remember of the Readercon schedule, dinner might be the best time, since there's usually a break in the schedule then. Anyway, something to think about further.

All in all, it seemed like a good meeting. (And all signs point to the group surviving until you return, Chang.)
