The Hygiene Hypothesis: Worms, Germs, and Poop

The Hygiene Hypothesis: Germs, poop, and worms.

Do we live in a germ-a-phobic, over-sanitized environment? Could this be the reason for the increase we see in modern maladies like auto-immune disorders and allergies?

Well sort of.

Even though it's a broad topic, I'll be covering a few basic points and bringing everyone up to speed on some of the most recent data/research. There's a bunch of mis-information in this area, so we'll focus on what's true, what might be true, and what definitely is not. I'd love to spend more time on each of the issues, but I really like the group discussions that spin off after the main topic.... plus COSMOS episode 4 will be airing later at 9!
