The Portland Metro Area Organizer Meetup Pages

Welcome to the Portland Metro Area Organizer Meetup, a group of involved and enthusiastic Organizers and Assistant Organizers in the Portland Metro area, including southwest Washington. Come to share ideas, enhance your organizing skills, and have a great time.

We are some of the hippest and most involved Orgs and Assistant Orgs in the Portland Area. We have groups that are well-established, and ones that are just starting out. We come from all sorts of groups. It does not matter what your group is about. Even though the dynamics, goals, and venue needs of all of our groups differ, we have much in common. We all want great groups full of involved, happy members. The point of this group is to share ideas and solutions, and to learn from each other.

Seth Godin has some great ideas and what it means to organize, lead, and be in a group, or Tribe as he calls it. You can download his 75-page 1.3 MB interactive PDF below.

He's created another book, The Tribes Casebook, which is a group of tribe members reflecting on the tribe to which they lead or belong. Like the tribe of Fire Fighters on the cover, without which all society would be in danger, or the tribe of the Disabled, to which no one wants to belong but which has some of the most courageous members of any tribe. Have a look at the 228-page 3.7 MB interactive PDF below.
