Modernising Money - Reading Group, London, Mon 25th Feb

Good news: First Positive Money (http://www.positivemoney.org.uk/) reading group is starting in South London!

This book documents - in more detail than ever before - exactly how we could fix the monetary system for the benefit of business, society, and the environment. These proposals offer one of the few hopes of escaping from our current dysfunctional monetary system. First meeting will be on Monday 25 Feb at 7.30pm.

The venue is Cafe Provencale (http://www.cafeprov.co.uk/index.html), 2-6 Half Moon Lane, Herne Hill, London, SE24 9HU (which is just round the corner from the station and bus stops).

We'll be in the back room. It's a commercial establishment with food if you want to eat, but they are happy with us not taking food as long as several of us order a drink of some variety.

Let's read chapters 1 & 2 to start with. That's 48 pages on 'A short history of money' and 'The current monetary system'. It's material with which most of people who follow Positive Money are probably at least partially familiar. We may slow down when we get to the later chapters on reform proposals.

From Croydon 468 bus takes 47 mins to Herne Hill.

From Sutton there's a direct train to Herne Hill takes 23 mins.

From North London, the First Capital Connect service and trains from Victoria run directly to Herne Hill.
