Welcome to our new, second HSP meetup venue in Berkshire. Berkshire is a big county, so it makes sense to have more than one Meetup available for our local HSPs. This Meetup will be hosted by Cindy, who has volunteered to be one of our NCHS facilitators, thank you Cindy :). Once dates have been organised, we will also have our original Meetup going on in South Reading, probably alternating.
We look forward to welcoming new and old members who would like information on the Highly Sensitive Nervous System and to meet others like themselves!
The meetup lasts for one and a half hours with a break in the middle for tea/coffee and biscuits etc. Facilitated gently so that you can relax as much as possible and enjoy the time together with other HSPs. This is an information meeting, with opportunity to share ideas and tips on living life to the full as an HSP, run in a supportive atmosphere but not a therapy group. The Womens Institute Hall, Church Road, Cookham Dean, Berkshire SL6 9PD
Train:
Take train to Maidenhead which is on the main line from Paddington (30 mins) or from Reading (15 mins). Either change at Maidenhead for the train to Marlow or Bourne End which stops at Cookham (5 mins from Maidenhead) and walk to the hall. It is about a 20-30 minute walk from Cookham station.
Alternatively we will arrange for picks up from either Maidenhead or Cookham stations.
Driving directions:
The hall is located next to the Cookham Dean Village Hall, opposite the War Memorial. Link to map -
From M4, exit J 8/9 follow A404 north for approx. 5 miles until the only roundabout. Take first exit at roundabout through Bisham village.
Before Marlow Bridge and before the Compleat Angler take the right turn into Quarry Wood Road and follow this road all the way up the steep hill and the hairpin bend into Cookham Dean. Go past Herries School on your left, the The Chequers pub on the left. After you have come to the end of the houses on the left hand side, take the next right turn into HILLS LANE. Continue up the hill past Uncle Tom's Cabin on left and then go round a sharp bend. There is a common and then the War Memorial on the right. The WI Hall is opposite the War Memorial, slightly set back. Be careful not to go to the Cookham Dean Hall which is next door on the left of the WI Hall.
From M40, exit J4 follow A404 south until the only roundabout. Take the 3rd exit and follow directions as above.
