THD is a very articulate speaker on important issues. Better use of time would have been to eliminate the first 2/3 of the talk, the content of which most of this audience was familiar with, and expanding the Q&A, which was quite interesting.

As usual, Thomas Homer-Dixon gave a magnificent presentation on some of the most pressing issues facing societies today, backed up by evidence from a diverse range of fields. His ability to conduct interdisciplinary research and speak intelligently on topics as diverse as science, economics, and social studies are a trademark of his. I particularly enjoyed his thoughts on economic growth in capitalist societies and how it's a significant roadblock in the pursuit of sustainability.

The message is terrifying and the arguements are well made. All citizens need to be aware of what is soon comming.

The speaker was knowledgeable and a good communicator. I appreciated especially his wide ranging perspective. Questions were good and answers insightful.

important to examine both peak oil and climate change together many important questions remained unasked and unanswered due to lack of time

I was late in arriving, but Thomas Homer-Dixon really prepared for and delvered a very special presentation. too bad the attendance wasn't double. Education of the public is a very important thing these days. But it has to go hand-in-hand with good analysis. Thomas Homer-Dixon does both admirably. He generated a large number of questions, but unfortunately there was not enough time for him to answer all. We need to hear him speak more often. I bought one of his books, but many, many people need to read them. Our life depends on that.
