Potterdelphia in the News!
Discussion Group
Our regularly scheduled discussion meetup is held on the
3rd Sunday of each month at 2pm in Rittenhouse Square at
The Goat, near the intersection of 19th and Locust Streets in Philadelphia PA. The rain location is the
food court on the second floor at The Shops at Liberty Place at 17th and Chestnut Streets.
Not just for kids!
Sometime in 2004, the Harry Potter and the Harry Potter for Grownups groups merged to form one HP meetup group, so we have a wide variety of people in our group. You don't have to be a kid or even have kids! If you have children or younger siblings, you are more than welcome to bring them along. We do ask that children be accompanied by an adult or older teen. (For more clarification on your situation, please email the Organizer, Andrea, or
visit this topic on the Meetup.con discussion board.)
Other events
We also have other special events or get togethers! Some ideas we're currently planning:
- monthly fun-days
- Wizard Rock shows and fests
- HP release parties
- Quidditch World Cup tournaments
- HP trading card games or swaps

Yule Ball Philadelphia!
This was our super big mega event of 2006! Beside having
six totally awesome wizard-rock bands playing throughout the day, we had a bake sale at the Yule Ball, with all sorts of wizarding treats and goodies! The best part:
all money collected at the bake sale was donated to
First Book in memory of S. Chris Saad of
Chris' Corner Books for Kids and Teens at 20th and Pine Streets in Philadelphia. First Book is a national organization that gives children from low-income families the opportunity to read and own their first new books.
This event was listed as a Can't Miss Meetup! The Yule Ball: Saturday 2 December 2006 / 5PM / $10 / all-ages... featuring Harry and the Potters with Draco and the Malfoys, Uncle Monsterface, the Hungarian Horntails, the Whomping Willows
