This meetup group is for anyone interested in learning how to use visuals and other tools (like PowerPoint, flip charts, objects) more effectively to create and deliver fantastic presentations. The ultimate goal is to share our knowledge and experience, and to provide tips on how to use different tools and tips to communicate with more impact.
Whether you’re a presenter, keynote speaker, designer, salesperson, or someone with an interest in creating better presentations, this meetup is for you.
We will look at PowerPoint both from a technical standpoint (click, move, click, choose, click) and from a design standpoint (this goes over here… that goes over there). We'll also discuss topics related to presentation skills in general. (For the record, I’m a public speaking coach and learning & development specialist.)
Not only will we learn more about PowerPoint and visual tools, but we'll also learn about design considerations when creating a presentation. Topics will be member-driven so that our time is well spent. And I’m hoping that we can hold our events for FREE (or a nominal fee to cover expenses).
Ultimately, we can all be part a movement to rid the world of horrible, ineffective, hideous PowerPoint, and create a community of evangelists for better presentations.
Please join our group if you would like to be a part of this community…!!!
Thank you… Steve
Tip: A great starting point for anyone interested in creating better PowerPoint presentations are the books “Presentation Zen,” “Slide:ology,” and "Beyond Bullet Points" (and their accompanying blogs).
