Enriched Air... aka Nitrox (nitrogen & oxygen)... is a breathing gas mix with greater-than-normal O2 percentages.
Using these elevated levels of O2 can make you "safer" (nitrogen tissue loading-wise) -OR- allow you greater bottom times within No Decompression Limits (NDL) tables... but also brings to bear new rules and limits to follow as well.
If you're ready to up your game and accept the responsibility of diving with elevated levels of O2 in your tank then this course is for you.
COST: $60 (This price includes your certification fee.)
PREREQUISITES: You must be 15 years of age or older and a certified scuba diver (by a nationally or internationally recognized agency).
You will need to buy a nitrox book pack from a local PADI store. Book pack must contain (at a minimum) the nitrox course book with COMPUTER EMPHASIS. (There are two book versions, Tables and Computer) . Ensure your course book is the COMPUTER-oriented course book (not the tables). Video is optional (if you can find the book by itself), but nice to have.
You must read the book and answer the questions (knowledge reviews) therein before coming to the class. No exceptions.
Nitrox is particularly suited for multi-day dive trips and/or medium depth dives. Used wisely, nitrox can potentially lessen your tissue loading (with nitrogen) considerably. Very handy.
LOCATION: 1966 Continental lane. (Classroom session only.) This is a private residence.
OPTIONAL: The accompanying dive with this course is optional and costs an extra $40. Let me know if you're interested.
