I live in Ballwin. I just heard about this meet up group tonight from Laci at the Primal Blueprint seminar downtown.
I have always been interested in and read a lot about alternative health, nutrition, etc. I came across Mark's Daily Apple and am really sold on the concepts. I've also read Gary Taubes' books and he's very convincing. I'm ready to put the principles into practice now. I love that it is a lifestyle based on local, in season, sustainaby raised/grown foods. (ie: Michael Pollen). It just makes a lot of sense to me.
There are so many great parks in St. Louis-- I think hikes, walks, bike rides, etc. at various parks in the area would be fun. Book studies, pot lucks, maybe even workshops on gardening and things like that would be great, too.
Just beginning to actually implement it. I've tried to go low carb a few times, but have always succumbed to sweets, bread or pasta just as soon as I started. I think I am ready now, though. The idea of trying for 21 days to see what difference it makes seems very "doable".
Cut out the bad oils, carbs, etc. Find local producers of grass fed meats, dairy and organic veggies. Eventually, I'd like to join a CSA.
Hi, I'm Wendy. I am trying to go primal/paleo and would love to find others in the St. Louis area who are already living a paleo lifestyle. I just came from the Primal Blueprint Seminar where I heard about this meetup group.
