What makes you a good Product Manager?

I'm a product strategist/researcher rather than a PM, but what I think I'm good at bringing to product teams is very grounded ideas, context of use, broad definitions of what "product" is and a platform/portfolio way of thinking about products/services/the organisation/brand etc.

What do you love about being a Product Manager?

I love working with product precisely because its the nexus of all the issues mentioned above. It's where the rubber meets the road with use. Products live and die, they're real.

What do you hate about being a Product Manager?

Silos, channels, managing propositions from the org perspective rather than the user who doesn't care about how we think about things. I also hate evil tradeoffs. Tradeoffs between stakeholders are the whole game, but everyone should get some value out of everything.
